Captive Southern resident orca Lolita's listing under the Endangered Species Act - from the Orca Network: It is great news that there was a NOAA web site yesterday saying Lolita had been included as a member of her family, the endangered So. Resident community, under the ESA. However, there is still some confusion due to the post-dated web announcement from NOAA, now removed. It will probably not become official until Friday, when it is set to appear in the Federal Register, and until then it is not set in stone. It might have been an accident to post it yesterday. Needless to say, we're looking into it, and we're coordinating with Lolita's legal dept. Please stay tuned for further developments.
